PM Imran Khan says people not taking pandemic seriously

Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the people of Pakistan that this is not the peak in the number of COVID-19 cases as they will be rising from late July or early August and advised the nation to strictly follow the standard operating procedure (SOPs).
In a televised message to the public, Imran Khan said that “I plea to the nation to know how important it is for them to follow the SOPs because by not following it will affect your life but also the people around you. Imran Khan said relaxing the lockdown doesn’t mean the virus has stopped spreading. We all know that the virus is still here and won’t go away that easily, the best we can do is decrease the number by safety measures.”


Carry on with your businesses the way you want but do keep in mind it had some conditions with it which are meant to be followed. The prime minister pleaded people to wear masks as it has known to be the most efficient to help with the decrease in the spread of the virus. He underlines not following the SOPs can risk the life of the elderly and other people that have highlighted health conditions. He talked about the United States of America saying that “even the United States of America had 0.1 million deaths of people affected by coronavirus after the relaxation of this lockdown, as no country can continue it as it causes inflation and poverty. The Prime Minister said, “Steadily opening of businesses was to slow the spread of COVID-19 and decrease the load from the hospitals.”


He also said “we are working on arranging 1000 more beds with oxygen supply for Intensive Care Units all across the country. We have also introduced an application called Pak Nigehban to allow a user to know if any beds or ventilators are available as everything will be shown in real-time across different health care centers.
The Federal Government announced that they will also be added more beds for coronavirus patients in major cities all around the country. A tweet was issued by Asad Umar in which he said” We have decided in an NCOC meeting this morning that the federal government will provide 1,000 beds with oxygen supply in major cities of the country with June” the tweet was issued by Federal Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives Asad Umer.
He added “the center will begin a confirmation for the improvement of this country’s health care facilities, mainly those who are treating critical patients. The decision was taken to help if there is an emergency due to the increase in the number of cases.


Furthermore, the NCOC has also authorized acquisition needed for the Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre (IHITIC) build for immediate use in Islamabad by the Frontier Works Organization on behalf of the National Disaster Management Authority and the National Institute of Health. It has 250 beds in an assembled state of the art hospital which can be used for the treatment of patients who are infected by both the coronavirus and any other infectious diseases.

The IHITIC has five wards in which there are single rooms and an ICU, two general wards, an emergency department, diagnostics, a mortuary, and an incinerator. It also a living facility for the doctors and a mosque.
A press release was issued by the NCOC according to which 52 ventilators have been sent to Sindh through the NDMA, while a portion of 50 additional vents will be delivered to the provisional government by the next 48-72 hours.

A press release instructed, “the NCOC is in consultation with the provisional administration of Sindh to crease room for more beds”.
72 additional vents have been given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last week, still trying to increase the number of beds in Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, and Peshawar. 72 vents were all given to Punjab in the last week and more beds will be available by the third week of June. Balochistan also got 10 vents that have been installed at the same time there is work been done on human resources to fully meet the requirements.
