Facebook, Instagram experiencing outages in multiple countries: Netblocks

Tuesday saw global interruptions on the social media sites Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, according to internet watcher Netblocks.

The company has issued an announcement regarding Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger experiencing login difficulties across a range of countries. Efforts are currently underway to address and rectify these issues as swiftly as possible. The organization extends its gratitude to its users for their patience and understanding during this period of inconvenience. They are committed to restoring normal service operations and will continue to update users on their progress.

According to Reuters, the outages started at about ten o’clock in the morning Eastern Time. An outage monitoring service called Downdetector received over 300,000 complaints of Facebook outages and over 40,000 reports of Instagram outages. Both of these numbers are significant.

According to Netblocks, “country-level internet disruptions or filtering” had nothing to do with the occurrence.
