As the Guardians of the Galaxy inches closer to its last instalment, Chris Pratt celebrates the series completing 8 years since release.
Chris Pratt is celebrating 8 years of Guardians of the Galaxy. On Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram to thank his fans and show his gratitude for supporting the Marvel franchise for the past 8 years now that the film series is coming to an end with its third and last instalment in 2023.
In his post, Pratt uploaded an edited video of the first edition of the franchise that kick-started a whole new leg of Marvel films. Not only did the franchise help MCU expand its roots in space but it also advanced the Thanos storyline. 8 years ago, today i.e. August 1 2014, Marvel debuted its first Guardians of the Galaxy film in theatres and it took the film no time to become a huge part of the MCU.
Pratt wrote in his caption, “8 years ago today, Star Lord and the Guardians hit the big screen.” Crediting all the success the film series has gained, Pratt attributed it to the fans as he added, “I’m constantly blown away by the community we’ve built in the past 8 years! And it’s all because of YOU! Thank YOU for allowing us to do what we love. Never forget… we’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Although, Pratt was no newcomer when the film launched yet Guardians of the Galaxy significantly added to his fame and got him to the position he is in now. Pratt’s rendition of Peter Quill was just what fans wanted and the actor was highly praised for his take on the character.
