The trailer for Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is finally out

Over two years after wrapping up shooting, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa’s movie Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is finally ready for its big screen debut and has just released its first trailer.

On Thursday, Khan shared the trailer captioned, “Humein lagta hai kabron mein rehnay waalay so rahey hein — so toh hum rahey hein, woh toh sab kuch dekh rahey hein???????? [We think the ones who reside in graves are asleep — it us who are sleeping, they’re watching everything]. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad!!! [Long live Quaid-e-Azam].”

The trailer consists of fast moving snippets that feature dialogues, action sequences, romantic moments, dance numbers and flashbacks from the past. It is packed with scenes from the film and there’s a lot going on.

The two-and-a-half-minute long video begins with it raining money in the streets and notes being printed rapidly in bulk as the narrator asks, “Do you know why the notes have a photo of Quaid-e-Azam? It is so he can keep watch over us. And so when we do something wrong, he is watching us.”

The film seems to really stress on the esteemed role of the founder of Pakistan and what he expects of the nation. Mustafa plays a police officer in a very Bollywood-esque style who’s portrayed as someone who may takes bribes but also fights the bad guys.

The end features an exchange between him and apparent goons one of whom says, “Inki jaib garam kar, josh hum bhi thanda hojaiga [Bribe him, he’ll calm down],” to which he responds, “Beta main khata hoon, par lagata bhi hoon [I may take bribes but I also take it out],” as he hits one with a bat that shatters into pieces.
