Verdict reserved on petitions challenging SC judgments review law

Islamabad: After hearing arguments from both parties, on Monday, the Pakistani Supreme Court reserved its decision on petitions contesting the Supreme Court (Review of Judgments and Orders) Act 2023.

Chief Justice Bandial, together with Justices Ijazul Ahsan and Munib Akhtar, made up the three-member bench of the highest court that considered the petitions against the provisions of the Supreme Court (Review of Judgments and Orders) Act 2023.

The Act’s validity has been contested by Ghulam Mohiuddin, Zaman Khan Vardak, and the Jurists Foundation, represented by Riaz Hanif Rahi, CEO of the organization.
