Bushra Bibi Develops “Mouth Ulcers” After Being Served Extremely Hot Meal: PTI Reports

Concerns Over Bushra Bibi’s Welfare

Bushra Bibi Mouth Ulcers: Naeem Haider Panjutha, a lawyer representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has raised serious concerns about the well-being of Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, who is currently under house arrest at Bani Gala.

House Arrest and Health Issues

Authorities have placed the former first lady under house arrest at her husband’s residence in Islamabad, now a “sub-jail,” following her conviction in the Toshakhana case. Panjutha, after meeting Bushra Bibi, warned that her life was in “extreme danger” and highlighted the high court’s concerns about her medical condition. He reported that she suffered mouth ulcers from eating hot, spicy food, worsening her health.

Legal Battles and Requests for Transfer

Despite filing a petition highlighting threats to her life, there has been no progress in transferring her to Adiala Jail, Panjutha expressed frustration. He reiterated the request for her to move from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail for safety reasons.

Senator Ali Zafar, another PTI lawyer, argued that cases against Bushra Bibi aim to undermine the PTI founder. He also advocated for her return to Adiala Jail and announced plans for a plea to allow her to visit her husband.

Complaints of Mistreatment

Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, PTI’s senior vice president, accused the authorities of serving Bushra Bibi substandard food and confining her to one room. He also claimed the Adiala jail superintendent mistreated Imran Khan and announced plans to sue for contempt of court.

Background of the Case

The Bani Gala mansion was turned into a “sub-jail” at the Adiala jail superintendent’s request, following a 14-year prison sentence handed down to both Bushra and Khan for illegally selling official goods, as per Judge Muhammad Bashir’s ruling in an accountability court.
