Amid election fraud claims, the JUI-F protests across KP and the Supreme Court’s decision in the “proscribed literature” case.

On Friday, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) held protest meetings in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand and Hazara divisions against what they said were unfair elections and the Supreme Court’s decision in a case about “prohibited literature.”

Recently, religious groups and people on social media didn’t like the Supreme Court’s decision to free a person who was accused of distributing what they said was illegal religious literature. This happened almost two weeks after the Supreme Court’s decision on an appeal against a Lahore High Court verdict.

The legal community and the government spoke out against the “malicious and slanderous campaign” against the chief justice. The debate also led the Supreme Court to issue its own explanation.

The central leadership of the JUI-F called for protests today after Friday prayers. There were meetings in Shangla, Lower Dir, Battagram, Buner, and other areas of the Hazara and Malakand divisions.

In KP’s combined districts, there were also protests.

At the protests, people yelled slogans against the higher courts and what they said were rigged elections.

In Shangla, protests were held in Bisham, Alpuri, Kana, and Puran tehsils. JUI-F workers spoke out against the election commission and the caretaker government.

Workers from the JUI-F union in Bisham stopped the Karakoram Highway and held a protest. Mufti Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Jamil, Said Muhammad, Inayatur Rehman, Muhammad Faheem, and others spoke at the protest.

If the judges didn’t know about Islamic law, Mufti Anwar said they should talk to religious leaders before making decisions.

The speakers also said that their party lost the polls because of cheating. They said that outside forces were trying to keep religious parties out of Parliament but would not be allowed to win.
