Meghan Markle says British press called her children the ‘N-word’; Explains being protective of their photos

In a recent interview with The Cut, Meghan Markle criticized the British press. She talked about her life as a member of the royal family and why she didn’t give the UK media pictures of her children. The Duchess of Sussex talked about why she chose not to release Archie’s picture, which was expected of her as a royal.

Markle said this to explain her choice: “There is a structure.” I don’t understand why I would give a picture of my child to people who call my kids the N-word before I show it to the people who love my child. “Tell me how that makes sense, and I’ll play that game.” As a royal, the Duchess of Sussex talked about being able to use social media. She said that she and Prince Harry did not have power over the @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account they shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton at first.

It was also said that she and Prince Harry didn’t play the “exchange game” because they deleted their own Instagram account, which was called @Sussexroyal. When Markle talked to Oprah, she said that bullying on social media was what got Harry and her off of it. In her most recent interview with The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex hinted that she might be back on Instagram.

Meghan’s new interview came right after the release of her new show, Archetypes, on Spotify. In it, the Duchess will talk to women from entertainment, sports, and other fields about the barriers women have faced on their way to success.
