PDM leaders reestablish their alliance in an attempt to take power.

“PDM LEADERS : We’ve decided to gather together and establish a government. “God willing, we will pull Pakistan out of its current predicament,” Zardari said as he began the news conference.

“The PTI is a part of the reconciliation that we must do. It’s not that we oppose PTI involvement in reconciliation. It ought to visit us, and all other political forces ought to as well. Our agendas for defense and the economy need to coincide. After advancing with our shared interests, we need to help the Sharif and other families prosper so that Pakistan might also thrive.

According to Zardari, he and other political figures were aware of the extent of the national debt, upcoming debt obligations, and other matters impacting the country.

“After considering everything, we have decided to sit together. We have run against one another in elections, but that doesn’t mean we must fight constantly. During elections, opposition occurs. Resistance to the election was what it was, not resistance to ideology.

According to Zardari, the leaders may have meetings, have conversations, and govern the nation as a group.

Shehbaz said that the political leaders had convened to inform the country that the opposition’s election campaign politics will soon end due to the impending establishment of the Parliament.

“Right now, we are fighting the problems facing the nation. Economics presents the first difficulty. It has to be stabilized, which is a complex process. The nation advances when a nation’s leadership comes together, resolves to end disputes, and moves the country ahead to solve issues.

He remarked that resolving the nation’s economic problems was the next item on the agenda.

We’ve come together today to declare to the country that we all accept the divided mandate. He praised the other assembled leaders as well. “I am grateful to Zardari and Bilawal that they chose to vote for the PML-N on behalf of their party,” he remarked.

Following the elections, Shehbaz said that the other parties assembled with him comprised “almost 2/3 majority” in the Parliament.

He claimed that the “overwhelming majority” of the group had the right to establish the government. However, if PTI-backed independents could form the government, they were free to do so, and the assembled group would accept it.

Shehbaz announced that Maryam Nawaz, the senior vice president of the PML-N, would be the party’s nominee for Punjab chief minister after deliberations, and he asked his brother, Nawaz Sharif, to take the position of prime minister.

In response to a query about Zardari’s potential as the future president, Shehbaz said, “We won’t disappoint you.”

Shehbaz demanded a stop to “issues of ego” and interpersonal disputes, stating that “revolutionary steps” were required to save the nation’s economy.

Come as I invite everyone to join the Charter of Economy. Let’s advance and work to uphold the democratic charter while stopping our disparaging remarks about one another.

He said it was essential to demonstrate the nation’s unity to its adversaries.

“Pardon and move on. Please grant us this reconciliation charter.

According to Siddiqui, at this point, no party’s interest could be more significant than helping Pakistan.

We will support Shehbaz Sharif and advance democracy via mutual collaboration. We will continue to support him as we have in the past,” he said.

To serve the nation, Siddiqui urged that everyone must set aside their political differences and proceed with a coordinated strategy.

Aleem said that Pakistan was going through a very trying time, with the poor being hit hardest by inflation and the economic situation worsening.

He emphasized that to make tough choices that would benefit the nation, everyone had to stand up.

“I hope Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming government will effectively take such decisions and end the poor people’s misery,” he said.

He thanked Shujaat for bringing the political leaders to the crucial talks.

Following the joint news conference, Marriyum Aurangzeb, the PML-N Information Secretary, said that Nawaz has nominated Shehbaz to be the nation’s prime minister and Maryam to be the chief minister of Punjab.

Bilawal: PPP will not join the federal cabinet
A few hours ago, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said that his party would support the new administration on an “issue to issue basis” and in the event of significant votes, like the prime minister’s election, but that he would not be joining the federal cabinet.

Following a two-day meeting by Zardari, the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) made its observations.

During a news conference today, Bilawal said that the PPP’s CEC meeting covered the nation’s present state of affairs, political stability challenges, and worries that Pakistan may be approaching a crisis point.

He said, “The PPP’s main decision is to pull Pakistan out of this crisis.”

Bilawal said, “The PML-N and independents had greater numbers to form a government in the Center. The reality is that the PPP does not have the mandate to form a government in the federation, and due to this, I will not be putting myself forward for the candidacy of prime minister.”

He pointed out that the PTI has said it would not have talks with the PPP, therefore ruling out the prospect of an independent-led government.

“The PPP has determined that we would not be interested in accepting ministries in such a system and that we are either incapable or not in a position to join the federal government ourselves.

He emphasized, “But we also don’t want political chaos in the nation.”

Bilawal also noted that his party sought to restore political stability and campaigned on a platform centered on matters of widespread concern in the February 8 elections.

He said that to guarantee that a government is formed and political stability is restored, “To that end, the PPP will be willing to support the case of important votes — a candidate of the Pakistani prime minister — and issue to issue basis.”

Accordingly, Bilawal went on, the PPP has decided to set up a committee to discuss matters like the budget, legislation, and the premiership with other political parties on an “issue-to-issue basis.”

The PPP leader did, however, state that he preferred to see his father serve as president. He said, “And I’m not saying this because he’s my father; I’m saying this because the nation is currently experiencing a severe crisis, and Asif Ali Zardari is the one who can put out this fire.”

Bilawal further emphasized that while his party was concerned about the election results, it had accepted them “in the larger interest of the country.” He stated that PPP members had expressly brought up concerns about fairness in their discussions with Asif Ali Zardari, and the latter had promised to take these issues seriously.

Regarding the PTI’s position on communication with other political parties, Bilawal said the Imran-led group was making choices detrimental to democracy.

Saying that we won’t speak to anybody, please refrain from doing so. However, why did voters choose you? “A political force must listen to others. They voted for you to solve their problems,” he said.

The former foreign minister said that to stop dividing politics, all political groups have to consider the nation. “They shouldn’t only be concerned with themselves; otherwise, the nation’s enemies would try to take advantage of this crisis.”

“A tango requires two,” he said.

According to Bilawal, the PPP has again chosen to use the phrase “Pakistan happy” only for the nation’s and its citizens’ benefit.

The PPP revealed the identities of the six members of its committee responsible for liaising and coordinating with political parties via a social media post later in the day.

The committee comprises Shuja Khan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Saeed Ghani, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Murad Ali Shah.

If independents form the government, I would happily sit on the opposition benches: Shehbaz
Shehbaz said that if independent candidates successfully created a government, his party would “gladly sit in the opposition benches.”

Shehbaz said that the PML-N was now the “biggest political party” after the votes held on February 8 during a news conference in Lahore.

“If you count independent candidates, then obviously their number is greater,” he remarked, acknowledging that they had received more votes. The facts are unquestionable. However, the PML-N leads all political parties, followed by the PPP, and so forth.

He said it was time to move on to the “next phase” now that the poll results had been made public.

“Leave it to independent candidates who identify as PTI-sponsored or non-PTI-sponsored, provided they can form a government. “There will be no invitation from the president to them,” he said.

He said, “We will gladly sit in opposition benches and play our constitutional role if independent candidates, who call themselves PTI sponsored, can show a majority.”

“But other political parties have the right to form a government if they cannot,” he said. “That is the democratic and lawful course of action.”

“We must proceed in this manner and complete the next stage,” he said.

“Together, all political factions must set aside their differences and work together to address the challenges Pakistan faces,” he said.

In response to claims of political party manipulation, he questioned, “In which election have there not been allegations of manipulation?”

Shehbaz said it was “inappropriate” and “one-sided” to declare on election night that independents were winning and parties were losing based only on 10–12% of the total results.

“There are accusations of election fraud on the one hand, yet we are losing, and the independents are gaining. This is incoherent,” he said.

He pointed out that his party did not organize protracted protests, urge for civil disobedience, or stage lengthy marches when PTI took office in 2018. Instead, he said, they diligently served as Pakistan’s opposition to improve the country.

He went on to say that while there were political divides, the opposition was more than happy to have a meeting with the then-prime minister Imran Khan to discuss several topics, such as Kashmir and COVID-19, but that Imran “made every effort to avoid meeting.”

He continued by saying that his administration was the one that had “saved democracy in Pakistan.”

Responded, “Let there be no doubt about it, given the point where our economy is at the moment, we will have to go for another IMF package and without delay, whether [it is] a coalition or some other arrangement,” when asked if a new agreement with the IMF was possible.

During his media appearance, Shehbaz was questioned about party leader and elder brother Nawaz Sharif’s chances of becoming prime minister.

Shehbaz said, “I still stand by my words that Nawaz Sharif will become prime minister for the fourth time,” recalling the succession of successes under the previous Sharifs.

He continued by saying that he did all in his power to reduce corruption while serving as the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s leader.

Shehbaz responded to inquiries about the PML-N admitting “turncoats” by claiming that the PTI had insulted his party throughout the campaign. “Nawaz Sharif insisted that independents supported by the PTI should be allowed to use their constitutional right to form a government.

He questioned, “But what is the problem if people want to join the PML-N out of their own will?”
