Brad Pitt sued by Angelina Jolie’s former company in a USD 250 million lawsuit over French winery

The complicated legal proceedings between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie seem to be ongoing, as recent rumors indicate that the actor is the target of a lawsuit brought by his ex-wife’s previous business. According to Page Six, Jolie’s firm has launched a USD 250 million lawsuit against her ex-husband for allegedly stealing the French vineyard that they jointly purchased.

According to the complaint, Brad and his group of friends started an effort to “take over” the French vineyard they had purchased together “as a form of revenge for the divorce and child support proceedings” and to “make sure Jolie would never receive a penny” from its enormous earnings. The 1,300-acre estate in the South of France was purchased by the former couple in 2008, and they jointly committed tens of millions of dollars to enhance it, according to court documents filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles, as reported by Page Six.

Additionally, according to the complaint, Pitt attempted to coerce Jolie into signing a “hush-clause” that would keep her from disclosing the events that led to their divorce by using her financial interest in the vineyard. Additionally, it claims that Pitt wasted millions of the company’s funds on “vanity projects,” one of which was the purchase of a million-dollar swimming pool.

The French vineyard, Nouvel, which Jolie had formed to keep a portion of her ownership, has launched the case. Jolie recently sold the firm to the massive liquor corporation Stoli. According to court records, Pitt ran the vineyard after Jolie and him were divorced without consulting her.
