Regarding visa-free travel, how do India and Pakistan rank according to the Henley Passport Index 2024?

France’s passport was ranked as the most powerful passport in the world, according to the most current findings of the Henley Passport Index for 2024, which were announced. Compared to the previous year, India’s passport ranking has seen a minor decline, falling from 84th to 85th.

The number of countries that Indian passport holders can access without a visa has increased from 60 the previous year to 62, even though the ranking has declined. In contrast to the surge in countries that do not need travellers to get a visa, India has fallen in the overall rankings.

The fact that the French passport is valid for entry into an incredible 194 countries without needing a visa is evidence of the country’s outstanding position on the list. To join France at the top of the list are countries such as Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain, all of which have outstanding scores for their passports.

Compared to Pakistan, Bangladesh has fallen to the 102nd position, while Pakistan is now at the 106th.

The nearby Maldives continues to be a solid passport-holding country, ranking 58th out of 96 nations and enabling nationals of those countries to travel without needing a visa.

Even though Iran, Malaysia, and Thailand have recently announced that they will no longer need Indian tourists to get visas to enter their countries, India’s ranking on the Henley Passport Index has decreased.

The Henley Passport Index is developed from the specialized data the International Air Transport Association provided. This data includes 227 travel destinations all over the globe and 199 passports. The data covers roughly twenty years. The index serves as a benchmark for freedom of travel and mobility worldwide and is updated monthly.

Over the last 19 years, there has been a substantial shift in global mobility. 111 nations (this number has increased from 58 in 2006) provide visa-free travel, virtually doubling in size.

Even though the world of international travel is constantly evolving, the power of a passport remains a significant factor that influences global mobility and travel alternatives for citizens all over the globe. Pakish News
